Liquid applied elastomeric roof coatings
Arkema offers a comprehensive portfolio of ENCOR® and ENCOR® FLEX acrylic and styrene–acrylic binders designed for liquid-applied elastomeric roof coatings, including cool roof applications for low-slope roofs. These waterborne emulsions provide the elastomeric behavior necessary to ensure long-term durability, waterproofing performance, and resistance to UV, weathering and standing water. In cool roof formulations, they also contribute to solar reflectivity and energy efficiency, helping extend roof service life and reduce building energy demand.
These binders enable low-VOC, waterborne systems that support sustainable construction practices while delivering long-lasting roof protection and reduced building maintenance costs.
1K and 2K waterproofing membranes
For 1K and 2K waterproofing membranes, Arkema provides ENCOR® styrene–acrylic and acrylic emulsions with the critical combination of cement compatibility, alkali resistance, and low-temperature flexibility required for challenging waterproofing environments. These properties are essential for membranes that must perform under persistent humidity, hydrostatic pressure, or thermal cycling.
1K systems rely on the polymer emulsion to provide waterproofing, elasticity and adhesion to mineral or polymeric substrates. 2K systems combine the binder with cementitious components to form hybrid polymer–cement networks, which enhance adhesion, water penetration resistance, alkali resistance, and crack-bridging capacity. Grades such as ENCOR® 5116 and 5120 offer indoor suitability (e.g., no ammonia release) and very low-temperature flexibility, while ENCOR® 5181 and 5188 are optimized for alkali resistance and elastomeric behavior.
Sartomer® solutions for flooring and waterproofing
Sartomer® (meth)acrylic monomers, oligomers and crosslinkers enable high-performance flooring and waterproofing systems for modern construction. These materials are ideal for MMA and 2K epoxy/amine liquid-applied coatings, offering low-VOC, low-odor and fast return-to-service benefits for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Coatings formulated with Sartomer® solutions combine durability, barrier protection and visual performance to withstand heavy foot traffic, moisture and demanding environmental conditions.
