Polyurethane systems: a progressive path toward lower VOC
Arkema’s polyurethane resins allow formulators to progressively reduce VOC content through solventborne, high-solids and waterborne options without compromising on durability, weatherability or film performance. This modular technology pathway helps coatings producers address regulatory pressure, improve worker safety and enhance sustainability profiles across industrial assets and applications.

Non-Isocyanate (NISO) systems: enhanced safety for applicators
Complementing its PU offering, Arkema has developed a non-isocyanate polyurethane (NISO) range designed to reduce exposure to isocyanates during mixing and application — a growing concern in industrial environments such as shipyards, energy infrastructures, rail yards or heavy industrial maintenance. These NISO systems offer an attractive alternative for manufacturers seeking safer chemistries without sacrificing coating performance. Arkema has developped a range of standard solids and high solids Synocure® that can cure without isocyanate with similar performance to polyurethane paints.
