It is an additive based on Acrylate technology to provide excellent ageing resistance to coatings. CRAYVALLAC® Flow-400 is also used as an adhesion promoter additive with excellent performance. CRAYVALLAC® Flow-400 is soluble in many solvents such as ketones, aromatics, mineral spirits, esters, glycol ethers and chlorinated hydrocarbons. CRAYVALLAC® Flow-400 is easily incorporated into formulations due to its wide compatibility and good solubility in most solvents. In Powder coatings, it is recommended to introduce the CRAYVALLAC® Flow-400 by hot blend or even dry blend. The method of incorporating CRAYVALLAC® Flow-400 into coating formulation does not affect the performance of the coating as long as it is uniformly dispersed in the system. This can be achieved by thoroughly mixing it with the other paint ingredients or by master batching the product in a base resin.
CRAYVALLAC® FLOW-450
CRAYVALLAC® FLOW-450 is used to improve flow and eliminate air entrapment, orange peel, pinholes, craters and other surface defects. CRAYVALLAC® LA-150
CRAYVALLAC® LA-150 is a new pourable liquid rheology modifier supplied in Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) for post addition to solvent based systems.CRAYVALLAC® LA-150 is a post-addition rheology modifier composed of a modified urea dissolved in DMSO. When added to the final system, the DMSO is diluted and the modified urea crystallizes out as very fine fibres which build into a three-dimensional interacting network. It is this network that gives rise to the system’s shear thinning rheology and time dependent viscosity recovery. The result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application. Immediately following application, where low shear conditions again predominate, the system’s viscosity undergoes a time dependent recovery as the network re-establishes itself. This time dependency is known as thixotropy and enables the final system to attain very good levelling.
CRAYVALLAC® LA-250
CRAYVALLAC® LA-250 is a modified urea dissolved in DMSO and is a pourable liquid rheology modifier for post addition to low polarity solvent based coatings. CRAYVALLAC® LA-250 should be added to the coating as a slow stream under low to medium shear conditions to ensure sufficient dispersion. Although efficient stirring is required to ensure homogeneity, elevated temperatures are not required for activation and the use of excessive shear should be avoided.
CRAYVALLAC® LA-377
CRAYVALLAC® LA-377 is a modified urea dissolved in DMSO. CRAYVALLAC® LA-377 is a pourable liquid rheology modifier for post addition to water-based coatings such as water-dilutable alkyds and acrylic emulsions. It was developed to ensure particular suitability for metal coating as its formula is lithium chloride-free. CRAYVALLAC® LA-377 should be added to the coating as a slow stream under low to medium shear conditions to ensure sufficient dispersion. Although efficient stirring is required to ensure homogeneity, elevated temperatures are not required for activation and the use of excessive shear should be avoided.
CRAYVALLAC® LV
CRAYVALLAC®LV is a high performance, micronised amide wax rheology modifier suitable for very high-solids and solvent-free applications.CRAYVALLAC® LV overcomes those difficulties which exist with hydrogenated castor oil based rheology modifiers e.g. seeding and false-body. Consequently, coatings formulated using CRAYVALLAC® LV exhibit an enhanced performance such as controlled flow behavior, ease of application and excellent sag resistance. Its very high efficiency even when activated allows to reach very strong shear thinning that can result either in very high sag resistance or interresting balance between viscosity and sag resistance. Therefore CRAYVALLAC® LV is for instance highly recommended in the case of solvent free coatings with relatively low viscosity. It prevents the use of specific equipment for the application that are necessary with more viscous solvent-free coatings.
CRAYVALLAC® MT
CRAYVALLAC® MT is a micronised amide modified hydrogenated castor oil rheology modifier for solvent-based and solvent-free systems. CRAYVALLAC® MT is suited to systems based on aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbon/alcohol blends. Compared to the most basic hydrogenated castor oil based rheology modifiers, CRAYVALLAC® MT is more tolerant to stronger solvents. CRAYVALLAC® MT particles are converted upon activation into an interacting network of fibre like particles. This network gives rise to the final coating’s shear thinning rheology. CRAYVALLAC® PC
CRAYVALLAC® PC is a micronised hydrogenated castor oil derivative surface enhancing additive for powder coatings based on PRIMID, hybrid and TGIC technologies. CRAYVALLAC® PC is easily incorporated using conventional pre-mixing techniques prior to extrusion. The use of CRAYVALLAC® PC leads to a substantial improvement in the appearance of the final cured powder coating. This improvement is due to CRAYVALLAC® PC enhancing the flow, levelling and degassing processes during cure. This is the result of CRAYVALLAC® PC greatly reducing the melt viscosity during this critical levelling stage in the cure cycle. This viscosity reduction also enhances the performance of other additives such as acrylic levelling agents and the degassing agent benzoin. CRAYVALLAC® PC works well in both clear and pigmented powder coating systems based on PRIMID, Hybrid and TGIC technologies.

CRAYVALLAC® WN-1265 is a micronised amide wax. In liquid coatings, CRAYVALLAC® WN-1265 is primarily used to enhance the sandability of Solvent based or Water Based Wood primers and sealers. An additional advantage to be gained in this application is the absence of bloom when used in acid cured formulations. CRAYVALLAC® WN-1265 is also an effective internal lubricant for plastic compounding. In powder coatings, CRAYVALLAC® WN-1265 improves degassing properties and allows high thickness applications of HAA cured paints, even on difficult substrates.
